I mean it's darn hard to calculate the arc length of pretty simple function. You can draw it with you pencil and it'll take a finite qty or pencil's graphite or ink but you're unable to calculate the lenght. Here we call it 'egg-heads at laugh', scientific humor...
I recall another funny problem. There was another pretty simple function (y=k/sqrt(x) or similar... maybe y=k/x or smth like that) and although we can calculate the surface of revolution on a [0;L] period and it'll be finite quantity but we can't calculate it's arclengh or it's infinite quantity. In other words if we take the graph of this function and make it spinning (to get to surface of revolution) then we'll have a gizmo... say funnel and we'll need a finite qty or paint to get it painted. But if we stop spinning the graph and try to measure it's length (remember [0;L] period?) then we'll fail cause it'll be an infinite value.
I don't know if you find these problems to be funny or not but they make my brains moving and smiling. And it's cool, uh? :))
