I had exactly the same issue-- I ordered a replacement cat for my '93 from eEuro, it came with slip-ring attachments at both ends (Beula was the make, IIRC), and was about 1-2 in shorter than stock cat.

It took a surprising amount of email exchange to convince eEuro that the part was, in fact, WRONG. It was wrong in dimension (length-wise) and it was wrong in downstream connection to intermediate pipe. There is no way that a safe and secure connection can be made between the flared slip-ring outflow of the cat that you show and the flat face of the intermediate pipe.

And yes, I listened to the BS from the eEuro guy who told me that a "minor adjustment" of the intermediate pipe-- freeing it from the muffler and extending its reach to accommodate the ill-fitting cat-- would make it all good. Even if I had been inclined to do so, which I certainly was not, that still would not overcome the fact that the downstream cat face (flared, and calling for a donut seal) would never mate properly with the intermediate pipe (flat).

BS, I say.

I ended up scavenging a true replacement cat from another '93 900. I took pictures of the three lined up side by side-- old cat, crappy cat from eEuro, and scavenged cat-- and sent them to Todd (or whomever) at eEuro. He shipped me a FedEx return voucher and eEuro has since credited my MC for the purchase price.

I still don't understand how a business that caters to aficionados of c900s could be so willingly ignorant of errors in their parts pipeline and not address the problem at its source.

But there you have it. Return the misbegotten cat, find or scavenge a true replacement.
