After a billion trips to the local indie and the squeal under the hood not cooperating and making noise when the car was there (mind you it had started out more like birds chirping in March and progressed to full on banshee squales by Labor Day weekend.....) I drove my baby home to Louisville Kentucky from Brooklyn, NY and got all my belts tightened as I lounged around a pool and ate fried green tomatoes!!!! I also managed to get my entire car detailed and was loathe to drive the 800 miles back since I knew ole boy would be COVERED in bug carcasses. He's shiny, shampooed and treating me like a princess!!!
I have now realized (After 2 sets) that what I assumed were crap windshield wipers may actually be a very undetectable to the eye slight depression in my windshield itself....of course all in front of the driver's side, the rest of the glass clears properly(though not exceptionally). I *can* drive in semi-heavy rain, but it causes terrible eyestrain. They do make contact with the glass the whole way but do not properly squeegee off the water, leaving a bit of a smeary mess behind, again, not TERRIBLE, but could really be improved. Is there ANYTHING I can do besides replace my windshield? Particular wipers that will press harder or conform to the shape of the glass better? Or some treatment I can use?
I haven't seen much of y'all, but I haven't had ANY problems at all. Those of you that advised me to buy this car..... THANK YOU!!!!
I have had about 4 "C900 waves" from other owners in the last couple months. I'm getting close to 110,000 miles. No man's land, I think. Not super low miles and not impressively high, either........ I drive VERY little in the City, maybe 60 miles/week, but with plane fares getting so high and my car having made two 1,500 round trips and a coupel to Philly and the Jersey shore.... I may be doing a LOT more road tripping.
I notice if I am rough in shifting into 5th the stick will grind and pop out. I have learned to be gentle with shifting. I still haven't changed the tranny oil. I assume I should do this sometime soon.
xoxo,
Amelia
