I just went through this inner driver stuff on both sides. On RH side (underneath the manifold), I replaced with new parts the inner driver, differential bearing, oil seal, o-ring and CV axle assembly and spent around $400 DIY. It resolved some but not all of the thumping and stomping problems under acceleration and driving up hills. So I took the old inner driver from the RH side and put it in the LH side(inner driver swap for the non worn surface) along with a new differential bearing, oil seal and o-ring. My LH side inner driver had very deep grooves; way deeper than the RH side. Be prepared to spend around $400 per side DIY if you are replacing everything new like I did on the one side. I'm still getting some thumping on acceleration even after doing the swap to the LH side with the old inner driver but at least its driveable for the time being with alot less of the deep thumping and stomping that I felt prior to the swap. It was so bad previously that I thought it was going to snap or break something if I didnt do something quickly!

Although I don't think the thumping problem is entirely eliminated on my car, it is way better. I suspect that one of my front tires has a broken belt or out of balance. Until I have that looked at, I'm not going any further with a new inner driver on the LH side. Nevertheless, it is way better and driveable.

For more info, type "inner drivers" under search and look at the bulletin board under Jims900S from Oct 8-25 for more info on inner driver symptoms, responses that I got and replacement. Plus, there is a good deal of info on the bulletin board regarding inner drivers. I hope this helps!
