What if you over filled the crankcase high enough to cover the oil pick-up tube completely, prime the pump and then drain the excess oil out. Another thought comes to mind! Isn't there a check valve ball in the oil filter mount to keep the oil from draining back down into the engine. I know that in the oil filter, there's a rubber seal that should be inside the filter, around the edge were the small holes are on the other edge to keep the oil sealed when pump is not pumping. I'm not talking about the oil filter mounting bracket seal. Check for both. Just a thought! And,if after all this your pump won't prime, I would think something happened to the pick-up tube.
