well let me just list a few things.
for the motor running fine then die dead for a sec and then resume normal operation with with out missing a beat would point to the hall.
the wires that plug into the diss. the plug on the diss is faulty.
try wiggling the connection and try to start the car.
if the car cut out and can not be restarted the hall in the diss. is gone.

a bad fuel pump will allow the car to run fine for 5 min. until the pump heats up and dies after it cools for 2 hr the car can be restarted for another 5 min. this only happens on a pump with 10hrs of life left then after constant restarting total death.
the last min.s of a motor running can say a heck of allot, if it ran on 3 cylinders then died, if the rpms jacked to 7000 then the motor died,
every slightest detail can me problem solved to who knows.

only way a pump would fail with only 800 miles is because voltage,bad rebuild, used part, bad ground wire, heck thats all that popped in my head im drawing a blank now
ill have to burn some teeth and check out the smell

just a note: that wire that runs into the diss. is about the only thing that can kill the motor dead in a mill. a sec. darn near everything else will give some issue before the motor dies.
