PhilV,
I too have loved my sedan(s) since I bought the first and only new one while stationed in germany. It wasn't very manly, but it sure was sweet. The Amarith metallic rose with the rose colored fabric seats and 5 speed turbo. It wasn't perfect all it's years except for the body and interior. The turbo went out about 120,000 and the "saab " dealer did not even take off the pan. Now he may not haved realized I had to drive it about 500 miles in an emergency trip home with the turbo blowing enough smoke to be a Army smoke machine (Mom in hosp, with brain tummor ) but he should have at least pulled the oil pan. Yp drove it to KY from Pa and shortly had to have entire engine rebuilt as turbo trash clogged the oil pick up filter. Regardless we let another pro Saab dealer in Nashville do the rebuild and got good results. Car continued to be a 60 mile daily driver till the day it saved my wife's life. Had well over 200,000 on her (the Saab)After that I was Saabless for about 3 years till I picked up a used 89 tubo 5 speed. A grey sedan used it from 1999 until two months ago when I put her down (the car) for rust and a bad body (dents all over). By that time I already had a 93, 94, usable vert(s0, and a 94 vert parts car and a 92 vert rebuild resell project, but not wanting to be a vert daily driver found a nice rust free sedan in upper GA. Bought it and then found a hatch back , also rust free. So now I am restoring a 92 vert (it's going away) driving the hatchback and restoring it, restoring the 4 door, just a few scratches and seat seam issues (well headliner too) I say one of each is about right., and taxes and isurance are cheap and who wants a new car I'm afraid to drive. It freaks me enough to use a parking lot for my old , but reliable and relatively uniques Saabs. So with this book and a few other respondents, yes there are sedan lovers too.
