Hall connector - should I solder?

Over the past 2 months, my 85t stalled out a few times in-between shifts. A few days ago the problem manifested as some bucking while in gear. I parked the car and this morning it wouldn't start. I traced the fault to a bad connection at the hall sensor.
Can anyone suggest why it would be a bad idea to carefully solder these wires, thus eliminating the problematic connector? I realize that future removal of the distributor (or engine) would require these connections to be un-soldered or severed, but that doesn't seem like such a big deal and probably wouldn't happen more than once every 5 years, or so.
I'd think this would eliminate a known problem area by providing a solid, corrosion-free connection.
Thanks!
