This responds to an answer to my initial posting, around Dec 11th, same title.
Not sure if high temperature is the issue, because I merely re-routed the (cold start valve) wiring away from the flywheel and is still in the same area, there is no temperature drop. For reasons unknown to me, this re-routr took care of the problem even though I did not replace the wiring itself.
