Spark at the coil wire to cap or spark to plugs. For some reason I have occasionally experience a car (92 Saab, 68 VW bus, and 80 Dodge PU) that would crank well, and just as I turn off key sputter, but not stark. For some reason there was not enough battery power to crank and cause a strong enough spark. I remember two of these instances being in extremely cold weather. On the VW bus I had checked and worked on distributor points for hours off and on in 10 degree weather. We had only gone inside to eat about 5 in the morning as we were freezing inside the bus. I finally paid a guiy to tow me to a heated garage, but popped the clutch and it started right up (as your saab did) Paid the guy for the 20 foot tow and went on my way. On the 92 saab I replaced the rotor finger and it started right up. Please don't ask why. I have no idea. Let us know how it works out. Thanks
