Is anyone out there???? I figured with all the thousands of auto to manual gearbox conversions someone would be able to help me. But guess not. Only Anders was kind enough to reply. Well, I will post what I figured out in case someone else has the same problem I will be able to help them. First of all, ignore most of the cruise control threads out there because they dont know what they are talking about. My problem was I had NO POWER to the cruise control switch (stalk)which also meant the "cruise" light would not come on either. If you have a pre 90 model you wont have a "cruise" light. Anyway, this happened after my gearbox conversion. It worked perfectly before. Everyone kept telling me to check speed sensor, vacuum pumps, vacuum switches, brake switches, clutch switches, APC switches and I kept telling people if you dont have power to the SWITCH non of the rest of it matters. And I was right. It just took me two days to figure it out. So here goes... I must state that my car is a 1990 Turbo and I believe my solution would cover 89-90 at least. *****If you convert your 900 from an automatic to a manual gearbox and it has cruise control you need to switch two wires to make it work. You will have to pull the knee bolster to make it easy to get to. Located very near the hood latch pull (the one inside the car on the left kick panel)if you slowly pick your way through all the wires around there you will find an ORANGE wire hooked to a BROWN wire (single connector). OK, that was for the automatic setup. If you keep fishing around you will eventually come across a BROWN wire going no-where. You will need to unhook the ORANGE wire as it is no longer needed and plug in BROWN wire to BROWN wire. The Brown wire you just found to the Brown wire that was previously hooked to the Orange wire. SO BROWN TO BROWN and you will now have power to your cruise switch. If you have a post 90 model you can turn this switch to the on position and the "Cruise" light will come on letting you know you now have it fixed. You can turn the switch to the on position at any time to see if the light comes on. However, you will not be able to engage it until the car is moving over 26 mph (I think). Now, If you have turned the switch to ON and the CRUISE light is on and your moving say 30mph and it wont engage or wont stay engaged THEN!!!!! you can start checking all of the other things. I still cant believe NO ONE had this problem before. Anyway, I hope this will help someone at some point. As for me as usual when I asked for help I was SOL. Yes, I am bitter. Thousands of people out there reading these posts. I find it hard to believe no one had an answer for me. "Bitter table of one you table is ready". On the flip side I am now very knowledgeable about SAAB 900 cruise control. Regards, Bitter
