Thanks for the replys. Keith, my temp needle twitches and then goes full hot and then back down. Several times it acted like a tachometer and went up with the RPMs of the engine. Did yours do similiar things? Since all the temp sender does is ground out to varying degrees I could not understand how a misfire or stumble could at all be related to the temperature gauge or sender. I have heard of people with hall sensor problems having wild tachometers or just going dead but having a temperature gauge going wacky because of a hall sensor is a new one on me but I will check the wiring in the morning to the hall sensor. I already looked at the wiring to the temp sending unit and it looks fine. Its always something. I feel like the little Dutch boy trying to hold back the sea. This car (which I love dearly) is nearly as much trouble as a 1977 Jaguar I once owned. I just did the transmission conversion for better gas mileage with no luck either. $3,000 + and I still get 20 around town driving it easy with no A/C on. After reading all the posts I was expecting at least 24 or so around town. I think most of these high mileage post are probably wishfull thinking. Anyway, thanks for the advise. :) I may replace both battery cables as well.
