this is a typical issue with this YM. It is a known problem, manufacturering had an issue with the welds, the paint, the undercoat, something. almost always on the left side, almost always when backing up, it pulls the rear of the A arm weld which when moving forward is compressed...
Broken stuff often includes the tripod bearing as it get yanked out of the companion carrier, sometimes the companion carrier too, the lower A Arm is toast, sometimes the boot for the tripod bearing. Usually thats all, unless you were doing burn outs in reverse...
So, when you get a new (used is fine) lower A arm make sure it is coming from a c900 that is newer, try for 1990 or even newer if you can.
Do a search on the board, lots of history, pictures of the issue.
It's really fixable.
It's just slightly more work than changing ball joints and inner driver (if needed), because you have to block the upper A arm as though changing the ball joints, unbolt the upper and lower ball joints (you can do the tei rod end too) remove the caliper, and undo the inner boot clamp so you can pull the entire unit out. You don't have to remove the 32mm nut and you can leave the rotor on the hub. remove this entire unit. check and renew the tripod bearing and boot as necessary. unbolt the bolts under the lower A-arm and swap in a replacement unit. Replace the knuckle/rotor unit being careful to put the tripod bearing in without banging it around.
about 3 hours of work if you don't hurry.
