Mike - thanks for the kind words. If you're planning on going to the 88+ style hubs/brakes (a good idea, wish I had done that in the first place), you might as well hold off on the wheels. 88+ SPG wheels, or, better yet, super aero's, are much easier to find than the 85-87 style. I wish more people upgraded brakes and suspension first, before they started cranking up the boost.
Springs are Intrax, dropped the front a bit over 2", dropped the rear about 1". Shocks are cheapo Tokico Illuminas, money was tight when I redid the suspension. I wouldn't recommend the combo as its still pretty bouncy, the tokico's just don't have the correct dampening for the spring rate. I would definitely spend the $400 or so from one of the site sponsors and go with a Bilstein HD. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the way the car drives - I've also put on stainless brake lines and axxis pads all around - pedal feel is very solid. Engine has the basics, about 16psi from a self-modded APC, 24lb injectors (go right to 30's if you go this route), 3.0bar fuel reg, msd ignition, magnacore wires, 2.5" exhaust, and a cone-style open filter in the fender. Would like to go up to a 3" exhaust, bigger injectors and water injection but the clutch can't hold what it has now, so I'll wait until I can replace it all at once. Best of luck with your 84 - let me know how it goes!
