before going at the hall sensor at the crank, see if you can get a pre 89 hall sensor type distributor. You can leave wiring intack on your Hall sensor system by getting the male 3 prong plug from a headlight wiper motor. Get about 2 feet of the hall sensor wire and plug with the distributor. Once you have the dist. you can do the swap in 25 minutes. I have the wire colors for this if you need it. Then if this isn't the fix, you don't have to go into the crank pulley hall sensor and you can look elsewher. I have 4 extra dist of the type I describe, non of which are for sell. They are great to pack into your trunk on long trips just incase rthe crank hall sensor wants to strand you away.
