The key to being a successful home handy man (or women)when it comes to cars is knowing when to hire professionals. Bentley doesn't give any information on the internal workings of the C900 automatic because they don't beleive it's something an owner can or should work on. I tend to agree with them. This is a "basket case" in the making. At some point you'll get stuck and you'll decide to take a break. A week will turn into a month, which will turn into a year. Three or four years from now you'll be selling it cheap with the transmission in a box. When it comes to automatics the only route is to fix it once by fixing it right. Get a quality, professional rebuild. You may be able to install it yourself but you'll need a C900 specialist to make sure the shift linkage is set up right since there are a few wrinkles to it that can ruin a new trans very quickly.
