I have an 83 8v 900 turbo engine in my 99 and not long ago I pulled it and redid the oil pump, also making sure that the engine was sealed tightly and put it back in. I decided to use synthetic 5w50 oil. It doesn't leak a drop, but I hate the rattle when I am starting the car and of course the oil pressure is lower because the oil is thinner. Would you think that the oil pump is not designed for the thinner oil and may not be generating enough pressure for the engine?
Thanks in advance for comments.
