I cant speak for the NG900 as I've never owned one but I do own a 1996 9000 Aero and a 1991 900 turbo. The 9000 is better in almost every single way except looks in my opinion. I love its corkyness but in terms of reliably (+ ease of service) and performance the 9000 wins. The 900 has a Swedish Dynamics box, fuel injectors, and a 3.0 bar fpr and the Aero still runs circles around it.
My biggest complaint about the 900 is the ride. Its not nearly as smooth all around like the 9k and any bumps in the road will make the car rattle loud enough to drown out the music from the stereo. I always thought this problem was unique to my car but it seems to be a common problem in all 900s.
