Your Saab dealer has the right bushings, or EEuroparts has them. Or, you can look for urethane bushings. I recommend ONLY the Saab upper bushings, which are two pieces (one between the shock & body that also goes through the hole in the body, the other between the body & washer, under the nut). I've tried urethane on the uppers, but nothing worked as well as the Saab OEM.
Many of the suspension bolts are SAE thread. The shock mount threads on the lower control arms are one. The lower control arm (and most of the suspension) dates from the 99, which was designed in the late 60s, before Saab embraced metric everywhere.
On 900s before about 1986, the ball joint bolts are SAE. Those only changed when Saab started putting the anti-roll bars on standard, and they needed longer bolts, so they went to metric. But most of your rear suspension bolts stayed SAE until they stopped making the Classic 900 back in 1993.
The 9000 may have been Saabs first all-metric fastener car (but I wouldn't put it past them to have a couple SAEs in there as well...)
