Hi folks. I wonder if No Snaab is around--I think he volunteered to look at another Saab I never went to see (an automatic whose owner admitted it burned oil). As someone who has not driven a classic automatic I can only report my naive impressions:

The owner was a nice guy who bought it new for his wife in '94.
It has something like 50 or 60K (I don't recall exactly)
It has all original everything and no rust of any kind. The convertible top works (boy--one thing I liked about saabs was cargo space but this trunk is small I must say--this is essentially a two person car, which I can deal with but hoped the trunk would be a bit bigger). The radio and tape players also has a CD player down below. The a/c works fine. The convertible top works fine. He has done some repairs which he says the repair shop should have a record of as they always serviced it (A GM-Saab shop in NJ I think).

I felt the brakes were a little sticky in some way--at least not remotely like Toyota Avalons I've been driving (I know--a very different car but I like them a lot but haven't found one that's right for me). It also seemed the motor was a little "loud". Not in any bad way, as I think someone here mentioned road noise etc. I didn't drive it with the top down as it started to rain (darn) but we did put it down and up. I also didn't drive it far, just one stop on the highway and then around the local streets.

I liked it. I admit it's not your typical choice and I guess my big worry is, making sure its in fine shape, and second, the convertible top and issues about that if I don't get a garage and hoodlums cut it.

Any input would be appreciated and I will be calling JR's Import Cars on Monday to see if he can check it out.
