thanks for helping me to get the courage to drive home and avoid having to be towed . the area doesn't appear to have been damaged signifigantly more by the drive home . I need ideas about this repair since I have not found a welder for the job yet . I am willing to buy a grinder/cutter to clean the area up after removing the shock . I know I'll have other uses for it on this 88 spg that I find more and more rot on . I want to know if anybody here thinks I should try to locate the prefabbed piece that I have so far only found on the german only site atp-autoteile.de ? I've heard saab used to sell it . what about cutting the piece out of a junked car ? I'm afraid if I go to a welder without a prefabbed piece he may have a difficult time with this repair and charge a lot , screw it up or both . please let me know what you think , especially DougM as I know you have lots of experience with welding . what's a fair price for the welding if I cleaned it up first ? thanks !
