There is an o-ring on the driver bearing housing. The driver is splined into the differential. It takes some tugging and pulling. Saab has a tool that mounts onto a slide hammer to pull them.
You DO have the back cover off, right? You'll need to to put it all back together.
The spacer shims stay with the left or right bearing housing that they came with, AND with the transmission they came off of, NOT the driver. The shims set up the preload on the differential carrier bearings. If you move them around, or put the wrong set in, you'll eat up the ring and pinion.
Once you remove the bearing housings, if you are swapping left to right, or removing them, the driver comes out from the housing after removing a c-clip on the shaft of the driver.
