Now there's a loaded question... Posted by Clay McNeely [Email] (#497) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Clay McNeely) on Thu, 17 Sep 2009 11:52:47 In Reply to: SPG, Edward, Thu, 17 Sep 2009 11:32:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
First off, I would suggest doing a search on this board. There have been numerous discussions on this very issue. With the SPG you are considering, I suppose the most glaring question is whether you want original or if that's even an issue for you. It has the 9000 seats (which do need a little work) and the State Farm Insurance sticker on the inside of the passenger-side fender-well. :-) The whale-tail is a rarity and a pretty big plus for most people. It has been maintained at a Saab facility, although I couldn't say whether it's a good place or not. What type of electrical work is needed? Racing pedals? Fastest Saab this guy has ever owned? Hmmm...might want to determine how hard the car has been driven in it's life. Every car out there has a story and simply can't be told in a short ad description. Ask lots of questions and don't get into something that you don't feel comfortable with. There will always be another one...
From my perspective, the mileage, rarity, and statement of "no rust" is worth $3,500. Since the car has been slightly modified (even if just cosmetically), I would check it out really well before you decide anything. People seem to modify their cars most when 1) they have some play money and want to have fun or 2) something goes wrong with the original (i.e. wreck, accident, etc.) and they have to do something to fix it, so they modify it while they're going through the trouble. Some people (I, for one) strongly prefer the "original" look and feel, so modifications hinder the resale possibilities at times...but then again, sometimes they help.
As far as other concerns, like I said, do a search on here and read to your heart's content. Good luck in your search and decision. Drive safely and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
