Clockspring continuity test Posted by Landjet [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Looked at the posts on testing the clockspring, and it doesn't seem that there is a definitive answer to the continuity question. So, here it goes again:
Would the clockspring be considered possibly good if current is continuous through each of the leads and not crossed to any of the others?
I just assembled after closely ( and I mean to the letter ) the instructions for remounting the clockspring. EXCEPT that there was a black plastic washer that I find out later is called a retainer by turbocon86 which did not make the dance -- it seemed as if it was incorrectly installed, as I thought that the piece was incorrectly replaced by the PO.
Everything was assembled, car started, and SRS light did it's normal thing, and then went out. I drove it down the street a few hundred feet ( after taking a right turn out of the drive ) and the light starts aflashin' .....
I did not check to see if the horn was inop yet....
