Yes,, the clips attach the injector to the fuel rail. without removing the clips first, hard pulling might break something.
I also have 2 tips:
1. You probably only have to disconnect the fuel line on one side, the one near the idle valve at the front of the car. undo the 2 bolts, electrical connectors and clips before lifting up ( I don't think the clips can actually fall in the holes but I put them in a spot away from the car, I lost one once and it is hard to find once it falls) Do a slight twist before pullint the rail up, fuel will likely come out so have a cloth there.
2. buy a new set of the 2 fuel line rubber/metal washers at saab dealer. It is likely available other places as well, but they are not too expensive. Once the rubber turns hard it is useless. New ones can be re-used several times without a problem.
