to answer orig question, on headlight itself.....(long) Posted by baggsly [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Installing Headlight - '93 900 - PLEASE Help!?, B. Michael, Sun, 6 Dec 2009 08:48:34 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
there should be the 3 black cups with white inserts in them mounted by screws to the headlight. you have 3 screws in the back of your headlight but are missing the other parts.
i don't know if the p.o. has buggered the sockets on your headlight by using different screws though. if they have, replacement is best/easiest bet.
on the black headlight bracket itself, the one in the picture is trashed, throw it out. get a new used one from the auction site or junkyard. in your picture, the top left ball head screw is as it should be. that engages in the cup and socket on the back of headlamp unit
the top right white plastic square should have a long bolt thru it with a ball head on the headlamp end, and a white plastic 4 pt turn knob on engine bay end (headlamp aim adjust). ball end engages in cup and socket on headlamp again. yours bolt is missing.
the bottom left hand corner (threaded socket part completely broken out on your pic) should have the same ball head long bolt with white plastic 4 point turn knob on it. again, engages in headlamp cup and socket for headlamp aim adjust.
if the pic is of the bracket and headlamp assy you bought from wherever, see if you can return it because it's already damaged. even if you go with e-code or another used headlamp unit, you will need a new black plastic frame. i would suggest buying new cups and sockets from a site sponsor because they usually break when you take lamp out of bracket.
hope that helps.
mark :-)
