Here is the reference passage that I was referring to:
Also, an interesting note....the AMP connector on the airbag side of the clockspring has a grounding strap that is defeated when snapping into the male side of the connector on the dash side. SO, if you are doing a continuity test on the airbag wiring, you have to clip into a "host" male connector to see if the wiring is OK.
So, continuity checks can be done with this procedure.
