I had an intermitent heat problem in my wifes old Cherokee. It would have heat one time and not another. The fluid level seemed correct, I was perplexed. I thought that there could have been some kind of blockage or an air pocket in the heater core. I purchased two flush kits and installed taps inline on both sides of the heater core. Using an electric pump ad cloth washing machine hoses I flushed in both directions with mixed antifreeze. I was not able to confirm the problem, but the heater worked properly from then on.
