Hm maybe I should've posted earlier about my plan to use Teflon. I had read on here somewhere a person who specified two wraps and then screwing the switch in snug. I did this Monday night and it hasn't leaked since.
Hm a copper washer? If the new switch came with one, I lost it inadvertantly. I don't remember seeing one though.
I didn't use too much Teflon tape--should I be concerned and replace with a washer, or not worry about it? It's so satisfying to see the oil level staying where it is supposed to be!
As an aside, I was never one to be very rigorous about changing my oil on a schedule, but for my Saab I decided no more than 3000 miles. So when I replaced the oil and filter the first time, it was after 3000 miles. In the past several days I have completely replaced the oil in the car...I was just about due for an oil/filter change--is it okay to go another 3000 miles (ie, not change the filter) or should I go ahead and change the filter? Seems to me I've heard of only changing the filter every other oil change, but I am most ignorant in these matters in general.
Thank you!
Sky
