Axle/spindle compatibility question...

I want to convert my '85 SPG to '88/up axles so I can support 9000 front brakes. I'm going to do an axle relocation in the back so the wheels are centered in the arches, and I believe I have a handle on the handbrake relocation.
My question is regarding the front.
My donor car is a '88 SPG (which will be providing the wheels as well) with known bad front wheel bearings. Rest of axle condition is suspect as well. My '85 has bad wheel bearings, and one bad CV joint.
I have a pair of VERY fresh axles (and mint inner drivers) from a '87 8vNA auto.
Ideally, I'd like to use the inner drivers and axle assemblies from the '87 8vNA with the hubs from the '88 T16. I assume that means I'll have to buy and have pressed in new wheel bearings for the T16 hubs, or are they in some different component that can come from the '87?
Advice appreciated!
Thanks,
--Jeff
