If you want maximum reliability then buy new Saab OEM guides. Eeuroparts lists the genuine Saab guides (as well as the Scantech ones). The Scantech guides have no marks on them (the ones I have anyway). I throw old ones away so I can't tell you whether the Saab ones are marked or not. The fixed guide (exhaust side) is always rubber coated metal but the design changed slightly requiring longer bolts. The tensioner side is only available in plastic now regardless of manufacturer.
