timing chain guides

Saabers, the 86T timing chain popped last year(old stlye tensioner and my fault for ignoring the clanking)
Now I have a replacement head and guides from another engine. 87 or 88.
Upon comparison of the guides, the original metal lower guide seams wider and sturdier than the replacement plastic one that came from the other one.
I am thinking that it has to be aftermarket, for SAAB is not anywhere on it. It seams also narrower that it may sit closer to the engine block.
Any ideas/experiencesuggestions?
I would hate to have to pull the engine out to replace this again.
Is the Saab metal timing guide still available, or are all of them plastic?
Thanks
