To replace the heater control valve: You have to remove the left speaker grill and cardboard cover near the pedals. Then detach two hoses from it in the engine bay. Then remove the four allen or phillips screws that attach the heater control valve to the heater core, then remove the valve. Make sure the control rod detaches from the valve but not the temp knob in the dash.
Glue the two orings to the grooves in the new valve. Put the new valve in place but connect the control rod before you install the four screws that attach it to the heater core. Then reattach the two hoses in the engine bay.
Add coolant and run it to be sure there are no leaks before you reinstall the speaker grill and cardboard cover.
That's it! Besides sore back from laying in the footwell.:)
