dude...can't you see I have already put 'that shiny stuff' in...and bought it for that expressed purpose...?

I do agree, however, that the asphalt stuff would have been better as a fix for the holes in the bottom...but not as a sound-deadener. THis is exactly what I use in the trunk area for the past few years as that hole (see later post in this string) continues to grow. The shiny stuff is made for this exact purpose: sound insulation.

as for damp-proof...shiny stuff is not absorbent. I may put down the remaining fire blanket as padding to bring it back up to height.

Other than the firewall area, the shiny stuff fits like a glove and only time will tell if it is annoying...and I plan on duct taping the firewall area a bit better before full install. picture was half-way in.

Why you always so negative...? your car must be on a pedestal of holy pristineness, and all of your work must be flawless. dude!
