It is great that the 900s are not worth much, but why? It is because many people don't see the beauty. Yet, why do we need others to tell us that the cars are gems?

People invest thousands in old BMWs, Triumphs, Mercedes, etc..

I still do not have a problem with the 900s. In fact, I spent all day yesterday working on my worthless 86 Turbo of which I bought for 300.00 a year and a half ago-deep shiny black, 106,000 original miles. It had no problems, engine as smooth as butter; just me being lazy with the old timing chain tensioner caused the chain to snap.

I replaced the head, and poured in hours of labour.

If one has to ponder if it is worth fixing a clean 900, then it may be time to purchase a Camry, Maxima or one of those other boring cars. After you buy one of those "foreign" cars, enjoy your trips to the dealership-they have free coffee, and television.

For 300.00, I bought another glass of nostalgia- of when I was driving my 1979 beat up 900EMS in 1989, and viewing those newer black 84's and 86's 900s with the bumper extensions. I even have a worthless SPG which takes me back to 1991 when I was driving my brown SPG clone, and viewing those real SPGs with the newer bumpers, flashy rims and shiny grille.

I worked for a livery service a few years back ,and drove several new cars: 300C, Lincolns, Escalades, etc.. and when I parked those vehicles after the shift was over, and settled in the 900: I was home.

The real Saabs are not worthless: they are bargains.
