I was suggesting that PIAA bulbs fitted to HELLA lamps and reflectors work fine. A bulb is just a bulb - no pattern. Patterns comes from lenses. There may well be intense PIAA bulbs for offroad use, but the ones I install in my Hella fogs and Volvo and Saab main lamps are well under 80 or 90 watts and specify they are compliant with FMVSS108. Anyone know what that is? I get mine from the local 4 x 4 shop.
Been using them for nearly ten years with no problems, but much better lighting for these dark, wet and gray Northwest days and murky nights. We need a lot of light on the road up here to do safe and fast motoring.
