That makes sense...though I'd venture that if Saab had simply specified a different vented rotor design [w/the braking surface(s) being more outboard] it would've been much cheaper than the tooling costs for new hubs. But then, I also thought the caliper yokes might interchange left to right - I had a better look today...doh!
As an aside...if the hubs are different, might the rims that came on models w/vented rotors have more offset to compensate? I'm assuming the entire hub sticks out a few more mm. I once mounted 87' SPG wheels onto an 84' 900t & remember the top of the tires seemed to come a little too close to the lower spring mounts. At the time I attributed it to worn bushings, but now I wonder.
