Okay, now the site is working for me again....
Tried draining and refilling after finding where the two screws went. No they were not for the filter. Checked all the O-rings/pipes and all seems good except for one pipe that came loose when reinserting the filter. I pressed it back in and it feels nice and tight.
I refilled it with 3.5qts of fluid but it's still showing WAY high on the stick at temp and after cycling through the gears. (I seem to not be able to post links or pictures at all :-\) There are also a couple air bubbles at the end of the dipstick. All I can think is the pump may be bad or it has air locked in it. What's the best way to check this? Unhook one of the cooler lines?
When I drained the first time from the pan it was nasty oil. After cleaning the first time (and overfilling apparently) the oil definitley didn't look like it had mixed with ~5qts of nasty oil...was still VERY red/pink (from air bubbles.)
O-rings all seem to be fitting tight where they should on the filter and the two small tubes.
