I'm posting this as its own post, I had already put it up as a reply to myself on another post, but that kept it from going to the top and any of you seeing it. I would be grateful for any help or insight.

I have a situation where when you shut the car off, the dash illumination lights come on, draining the battery after a couple days. I checked in the fuse box, and fuse 23 has 12.48V and is drawing .89 amps with the key off and out.

Jiggling the ignition switch to the right results in the dash lights going out. You have to find the sweet spot where the lights go out, but you can still get the key out. It was postulated that there might be a relay sticking, but I've pulled every relay that could be involved and the lights stay on. I have replaced the ignition switch, and the problem remains.

The problem is you can't tell if the lights are on until its really dark out. I've pulled fuse #23 for now, but I really shouldn't have to.

Unless I find a solution and soon, I'm going to revert to putting in a battery isolater relay on the main ground, so all power can be cut to the car when parked. My stepdaughter normally has this car 400 miles away, and I can't have her stranded or unable to get to class.
