stubborn high idle Posted by Notnoel [Email] (#23) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Notnoel) on Wed, 15 Sep 2010 07:19:31 In Reply to: Post-tranny swap fixes (long), swoody, Wed, 15 Sep 2010 00:11:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had high idle problems for a long time which were related to a combination of thee things:
1) the worst of it was cured after replacing a tiny rubber hose on the top of the Charcoal cannister for the Evap control;
2) then I tested the main PCV hose (the big one leading to the turbo intake) that is a relatively unobtainable part. It leaked badly, but eventually I found good used replacement. I think you have a NA; if so, it may not be as hard to find a replacement, if that's an issue;
3) Lastly, I replaced my AIC. The one I had worked, just not very well.
She now idles smooth as silk, even with the over-sized injectors and performance ECU chip.
Best of luck on your continued gremlin hunt.
