a quickie test of the AIC valve is to rap it with a medium soft blow with the handle end of a screwdriver. not hard, not trying to dent it... if the idle changes with the contact... the guts of the AIC are most likely sticking. the best way I have found to clean the insides out is 409 or fantastic cleaner left in overnight. not carb or brake cleaner as they can melt the platic inside the unit. so plug one of the openings and position in a vise or other some other method so you can fill via the other opening and let it sit overnight. next day drain and shake it, you should hear the guts rattle, also put thumb on one opening and blow on the other, should not allow air to escape, usually this happens at the connector end where this is plastic... remember, no brake or carb cleaner...
