it's really weird. If you're sure that there's no water or diesel in your fuel tank (man, it happened on the gas station, didn't it?!), then smth went wrong when you shut down or re-started your engine then.
I think that you can go on with the part swapping almost endlessly. I'm not the best one at 900 '90 n/a model, but I think it's pretty much Tech2-friendly. You definitely need real-time data from your Jetronic ECU.
You should hookup to the system and check what it sees around when you just turn on ignition. I mean to say there shouldn't be any 100F temp on a cold engine and so on, use your common sense. Then start cranking and check what happens with ECU then - maybe it's the RPM sensor that is giving troubles.
I don't know much about Jetronic peculiarities, but Lucas CU14 (about the same as LH 2.4 or 2.4.x) stops talkin to the test socket if you're above 2-2.5K RPM. Just saying.
