is to put some carb or brake cleaner in the intake plenum, pull a vacuum line off, use the plastic straw applicator, put in in the intake and spray to a count of about 10. replace the vacuum line, crank. if it does *not* cough and almost start then you have no spark... you can confirm that by pulling the spark plug wires and putting a plug in one and laying it on the car for ground... easier to see at night...
If it does cough and try to start... then you either have a fuel delivery problem or injector not firing for some reason, the Hall effector (or CPS on the non turbo 2.1 cars) will also prevent the engine from pumping fuel, the elec box wants to see that the engine is turning when it runs the pump.
Using a 17 and 19 mm wrenches on the end of the fuel rail towards the front bumper , box end of the wrench for the outer most which is the banjo box, crack that bad boy and be prepared for a giant spray of fuel.... if you are not getting sprinkler style spray... you don't have fuel pressure. FPR or pump or in rare cases the fuel filter.
