all over the bottom 1/2 or more of the entire turbo housing. there had been noticable, possibly white, smoke that first alerted me to a problem. I say possibly, because it is pretty cold out (25f)and the condensation complicates things. I pulled the plugs to check for HG evidence, and had to endure the burning smoke off the turbo the whole time. Smelling some oil smoke from time to time, but this motor has many leaks, including weeps from the turbo oil inlet and outlet. It also looked liked oil had actually dripped off from the WG housingend of the turbo. I know it has play, and about 210k on it. Boosts like new, with no noise. I see Swedish Dynamics has a rebuild kit for $150, and i see a similar kit on the bay for half that. I expect, and i would appreciate opinions, that SD's kit is the only one to get, and that i have wasted my time even typing! Their clutch did the job, BTW.
Never rebuilt a turbo before, and SD says they have full instructions, but any advice before tackling the little mitsu?
