Check your timing while you are at it. That could be causing shaking and misfire as well. If you don't have a timing light, a cheapo one from Harbour Freight will do the job. Before you get started, get a silver or white thin-point paint marker from an arts and crafts store and put a mark in the groove on the plastic flywheel/flexplate cover and also on the proper degree mark on the flywheel/flexplate. The little viewing window is right on top of the cover. You can turn the flywheel/flexplate up to the degree markings by using a large screwdriver in the teeth and leveraged against the cover. Nice shiny markings make it a lot easier to dial in the proper timing in the tight space you can see. Turbo cars should be set to 16 degrees, I'm not sure of the proper degree on NA cars--anybody?
Loosen the bolt on the distributor hold-down enough to be able to turn the distributor by hand. Just turn it a little until the marks you made match up. You'll also need to disconnect the vacuum line from the capsule on the distributor and plug the hose with a golf tee or something while setting the timing.
