Before we proceed. Would like to make clear that Landjet has been a solid contributor to this board (I have benefited from his advices and insight numerous times), his words should never be ignored lightly.
Saab has set the push rod adjustment and advised against tempering for a reason. This setting works with the brake master cylinder's "recess amount" to ensure the proper working of the system.
Since you have three failed boosters in a row. I rather suspect that at some point in your SPG's life, a non-Saab brake master cylinder was installed, screwing up the relative position of them. Which is why I suggested the adjustment.
With Landjet's word of caution, I now have a different suggestion. Compare your current brake master cylinder with a known Saab spec'd one. Measure the recess from the mating surface to see if they are the same. If not, we have isolated the issue and just install the Saab spec'd master cylinder.
If yes, the push rod setting remains a suspect.
Before adjusting it, again, compare it against a known Saab spec'd booster. Just measure how much does the rod sticks out of the booster housing.
If adjustments is indeed called for after all these measurements, go to the website "Autoshop101", they have an outstanding section on brakes, brake boosters, etc.
Good luck
