If you have been bleeding the brake system by pumping-up the brake pedal and releasing the bleeder until the pedal hits the floor, there is a problem with this method. When doing the pedal pumping type bleeding procedure, this will push the seals past the built-up gunk at the normal pedal travel. When this gunk is broken free it clogs-up the small one way valves inside the brake master cylinder and causes either loose of brakes or hardening of brake. As you push the brakes the fluid just gets stacked without returning back into the reservoir, causing hard pedal.. You can either rebuild the seals or replace the master cylinder with a new or rebuilt unit.
