So I ended up buying a 1988 SPG from Arizona (black) that has never seen a speck of salt or corrosion...124K miles on the OD. But, I have my '88 Ed Grey (I love that color) that I've driven hard since 1996...she runs like a champ, has never left me on the side of the road ~~~(don't ask me about the ball joint popping), has pulled me through freak snow storms, has blown away BMW 325's in third gear, and is just plain dear to my heart. BUT, she sits under a nice car cover while I work on her evil (?) brother from AZ. She has solid A-arm mountings, but the floors have rusted through; the drivers side looks showroom while the passengers side has big rust over the wheel arches; the hood has clearcoat and more eroded; the seats are Ok and the headliner is decent. This SPG is like a soulmate...hurtin' but never let me down...the tranny was rebuilt by indi 30K miles ago and is like butter (MTL Synthetic since rebuild). This car is like a college girlfriend that I should have married (shush...the wife is sleeping) and when I turn the key after hybernating a full MN Winter she starts up on the 2nd revolution...amazing every year).

So the "activities manager" is telling me the Grey has to go. I could fight back. Or I could sell her (not the wife...?) or...would anybody buy it?...or should I keep her for parts to feed the black AZ (the SPG, not the wife...I'm talking about her mood!(?)).

Is the the grey '88 SPG restorable? I would prefer this to parting out. Maybe $2000?

Rust is not a good thing in MN, yet she (the grey) is not even gone and I futuristicaly miss her dearly. Anybody know of a good shrink? Cmyles?
