sounds like brakes hanging up.
If you can still move the car, drive it a bit. 2-3miles Then stop and get out, put your hand on each of the rims carefully, it may be HOT! If one or more of the wheels feels excessively hot compared to the others that caliper is hangin up.
or... jack up the suspected wheel(s) and try spinning them. It should spin by hand w/o much of a problem. There is usually some resistance though...
I would flush out all the old brake fluid if you discover a caliper problem. Most likely the fluid was boiled or compromised if that's the case. It's a good thing to do anyways
or... The parking brake is on the rear caliper, it is possible to lay down behind the car and reach under to the caliper. Make sure the e-brake lever is pulled all the way back to released position. They stick sometimes, and that will cause your symptoms. It's the only lever w/ a cable on it in the caliper. You can move it by hand, or if it's stuck, w/ some coaxing from a choice tool.(pry, hammer)
is it an Auto trans? Those are troublesome, but doesn't sound like your prob.
good luck!
