That way your plug welds will be done on the seam between the two halves of the inner fender well - - the wall alongside the engine compartment.
Try to get your color of fender too, then the body shop work will be minimal.
Look for an indy who knows about and has done this. What you do is cut past the seam off the donor car - - part of the inner half of the inner fender. Also needs a cut down below the headlight, and something ahead of door and down below.
The spot welds get drilled out and the seam ground clean, throw away the inner part with the saw cuts.
Then on your car you cut the bad fender away on OUTSIde of the seam, drill out the welds, clean things up.
Then clamp it on and do plug welds, and re-seal the seam with undercoat.
As explained to me, I haven't done it.
